Is operation nesting underway? One of the fun things about expecting a child as you anxiously await his or her arrival is getting the nursery ready. In this post I want to share with you our nursery for baby number 2 and some of things you want to include in your nursery.
1. Crib
Obviously every nursery needs a crib, but I really liked this crib because it can be converted into a toddler bed with a side rail. This was really nice for our first kid who likes to roll around a lot and needed the extra side rail so he wouldn’t fall out of bed. We were suppose to get one like it for our second son, but they ended up sending us a different one than we ordered.
Check out these fun sheets and mobile.
2. Rocking chair or glider
The next must have item is a Rocking chair or glider. Personally I like a rocking chair over a glider. I used a glider with my first child, but since the frame of the glider is wood it wasn’t as comfortable as the nice cushioning of a rocking chair.
3. Dresser
My friend had a white dresser for her baby girl and I just loved the look of the classic white and had to get one for myself. This one looks cool too where it is designed as a changing station on top.
It also made a nice height for the changing pad. Also pictured is this fun wall decor where you have clips to hang pictures from.
4. Book Shelf
It will be a while before you will get to read to your little one, but those are definitely some of my favorite memories. These wall book shelves are cute to display your favorite books. Obviously you don’t remember the books you read as a little child, but you will remember the books you read your child. So think about story time is just as much about you as it is about your little one.
Some of my favorite books to read my kids:
- Big Red Barn
- Brown Bear
- Very Hungry Caterpillar
- Dear Zoo
- From Head to Toe – Eric Carle
We used the same book shelves for my first born. Here is another picture of the shelves from his room
5. Toy Storage
You will definitely need something to store all your toys in. Check out these multi-purpose bins.
You can get different colors for the bins if you like and there are different styles and options to choose from.
Waiting for the arrival for your sweet little one is definitely an exciting time. Happy nesting Momma!

Hi Tricia, cute choice! The grey-and-yellow is one of my favorite combinations.
This toy storage works best, and what is great you can make the easiest labels for it, to make the clean-up faster and simpler 👍
