How to create your own Thanksgiving wood Turkey.
For this craft I purchased a pre-made kit. I did this craft as a Super Saturday activity where we get together with the women organization of my church and do some fun crafts. I was on the planning committee and this was the craft that I choose to take lead on.
I purchased the kits from Thoughts in Vinyl. They sell a variety of cute pre-made kits. They recommend for larger orders to order at least 2 weeks in advance.
The kit came with 3 unfinished wood pieces and pre-cut vinyl letters. There is the option to purchase a complete kit where you get pre-selected papers to use. I decided to choose my own papers for this craft.
It was super easy to assemble. Choose your favorite fall patterned papers for the feathers. I used modge podge to adhere the paper to the wood. Once it was dry I placed the vinyl lettering on top of the paper.
To finish off the turkey add the eyes, beak, and wattle (yes, I had to look that up!). You will need to adhere the back of the turkey’s body to the feathers.
